Nature endowed Braša with exceptional athletic potential, above all when it came to his physical constitution. But just as intelligence is not always accompanied by the diligence necessary to become a genius, physical aptitude for sport is not always accompanied by the necessary hard work and perseverance.
It is well known, however, that sporting success, in addition to a certain degree of talent, is primarily the result of persistent and dedicated training. This was precisely what Braša lacked, and to such an extent that almost everyone considered him simply uninterested in achieving better sporting results.
He was well built, tall and strong, with a powerful muscular build, so it was not difficult for him, so to speak, to secure a regular position as a full-back in the very good Novi Bečej Zvezda team, practically without training.
Likewise, without any special preparation, he was one of the best swimmers in Novi Bečej. At a competition held in Zrenjanin on August 30, 1953, he achieved notable results: he finished second in Banat in the 100-meter freestyle, was also second in Banat in the 200-meter breaststroke, and won first place in Banat in the 100-meter butterfly.
Thanks, among others, to his contribution, Jedinstvo from Novi Bečej won first place in the 4 × 50-meter medley relay at that competition.
Knowing all this, can we not regret that Braša was not more ambitious and diligent? Perhaps today we would be writing about him as one of the great athletes of Novi Bečej.
Nevertheless, despite everything mentioned above, Braša was a very good footballer. Without great sporting ambitions, he relied on his natural abilities to earn a prominent position as a full-back for Novi Bečej Zvezda and to become an important part of its team.
