Today, a registration booklet for a bicycle may seem unusual, but this surviving document shows that bicycles were once recorded in this way too. The booklet included the owner’s details, place of residence and bicycle frame number.
The owner of this bicycle was Radivoj Radin from Kumane. Alongside the booklet, a certificate from 1948 has also been preserved. It reads:
“I hereby confirm that, in my workshop, I assembled one old bicycle from old parts, of an unknown make, for Radivoj Radin from Kumane…”
The certificate was signed by mechanic Radislav Pecarski, whose stamp bears the place name Vološinovo.
This old booklet reminds us of a time when even a bicycle had its own “papers.”
