Milorad “Mića” Josimović (born in 1949) is a versatile artist and designer, a man whose creativity and craftsmanship have left a lasting mark on the artistic life of Novi Bečej and beyond.
Born in Novi Bečej, Mića showed a natural talent for art and design from an early age, with a keen sense for form, proportion, and harmony. He graduated from the School of Applied Arts in Novi Sad, majoring in Interior Architecture Design, where he developed his refined sense of aesthetics and composition.
He further specialized in design at the “Agrob” Design Center in Munich, gaining valuable experience in industrial and product design. Throughout his professional career, he worked for several renowned companies — “Orbis” in Novi Sad, “Jugodrvo” in Belgrade, and “Polet” in Novi Bečej — where he contributed to the development and design of ceramic products.
Josimović’s creative expression spans a wide range of disciplines: design, drawing, painting, interior architecture, ceramics, and even filmography. His first solo exhibition took place in 1972 in Novi Sad, marking the beginning of a rich artistic career. In 1984, he became a member of the Association of Applied Arts Artists and Designers of Vojvodina (ULUPUDIV), and by 1986, he had achieved the status of an independent artist, dedicating his life entirely to creative work.
Over the decades, he participated in numerous art colonies and symposia both in Serbia and abroad. His works are recognized for their originality, warmth, and distinctive aesthetic that blends functionality with artistic expression. He received several awards and honors for his contributions to design and fine arts.
For the people of Novi Bečej, the work of Mića Josimović holds a special place. His creative spirit has left an indelible impression, and his artistic legacy stands as a personal testament and a gift to his hometown — art transformed into timeless value.
