Responsibility, ambition, and dedication marked the life and career of Dr. Milorad Drobac, Doctor of Economic Sciences.
He was born on February 11, 1948, in Bočar, where he completed elementary school as the top student of his class.
He continued his education at the Secondary School of Economics in Novi Kneževac, where he was again recognized as student of the generation. In 1971, he graduated from the Military Academy of Economics, after which he completed a specialization at the Intelligence and Security Center of the Yugoslav People’s Army (JNA).
Dr. Drobac continued his academic advancement in the civil sector as well. In 1993, he earned his Master’s degree in Economics from the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, University of Novi Sad, and in 1998 successfully defended his doctoral dissertation titled Yugoslav Agriculture in Transition (Paths of Transformation).
Between 1971 and 2007, he worked in various state institutions — including the Yugoslav People’s Army, the Ministry of Defense of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Interior of Serbia, as well as in the business sector.
From the late 1980s onward, he was also active in higher education, teaching at the College of Economics and Commerce in Novi Sad, the Faculty of European Studies for Engineering Management in Vrbas, and the Faculty of Law and Business Studies in Novi Sad, where he also served as acting dean.
In accordance with his academic title, Dr. Drobac has published more than forty scientific papers in national and international journals and participated in numerous academic conferences. He is the author of three university textbooks and six monographs:
- The Growth of Productivity of Production Factors in the Agriculture of Developed Countries
- Bočar 1211–1998
- The Year Without Spring
- Agriculture in Transition (Global and Domestic Experiences)
- Bočar Through Migrations
- Geopolitics and Terrorism in the Age of Globalization
A new monograph, titled Global Order and Security Risks, is currently in preparation.
For his achievements and contributions, Dr. Milorad Drobac has received numerous military decorations as well as sports and civic awards. Since 2015, he has been enjoying a well-deserved retirement.
