After the establishment of the Home, maintenance of facilities and equipment relied on the help of the users themselves and janitors. Larger tasks, such as interior and exterior painting, yard maintenance, building repairs, and similar activities, were carried out through work actions involving all employees and beneficiaries.
However, as the number of users unable to participate in such work due to their health condition increased, there arose a need to hire professional staff. Thus, in 1976, the first mason, Laslo Kiš, was employed. Ten years later, an electrician position was created, and Šandor Horvat was hired, followed by Janoš Bartus in 1987, who later transferred to a driver position. In 1992, Geza Čikoš was employed as a painter.
In an effort to meet high standards and improve service quality while providing a comfortable and pleasant environment for its users, the institution increased the number of maintenance workers and formed a maintenance team in 1997. Previously hired workers were joined by Jožef Zelei as the head of maintenance and mason, Janoš Bereš as a plumber, and Mihalј Feješ as a carpenter. Their job was to maintain all three departments. Over time, senior workers retired and were replaced by younger ones, such as Ferenc Sabo as a plumber and Robert Pataki as a mason and painter.
In 2001, larger works began at the Home, necessitating an increase in maintenance staff. In 2005, the position of head of maintenance was taken over by Zerebelјi Janoš after Jožef Zelei retired. During those years, new hires included Gabriel Oroslamoš, painter, Laslo Kiš Jr., mason and painter, Dragan Balaban, stoker, Zoran Maksimović, painter, Atila Rigo, electrician, and Darko Slavulј, stoker, replacing Balaban who moved to a porter position. Subsequently, new or vacant maintenance positions were filled by Čaba Vaštag, plumber, Boško Marić, and Radovan Davidović, painters, and Jožef Zerebelјi, electrician. This small team works tirelessly every day to promptly fix any issues and ensure a pleasant stay for the users.
The nature of the institution and the specific needs of its users have long required a professional porter service. However, it was only in 2001 that Dušan Grujić and Manfred Hajdu were hired as porters, followed the next year by Duško Glavaški, Predrag Tašin, and Jovan Milankov. This service was completed in 2004 with the employment of Nenad Gogić. In recent years, changes have occurred - new porters Balaban Dragan and Keri Erne were hired to replace those who left. Five professional porters continue to ensure the safety of users today.
The driver service and official vehicle maintenance are also important segments of the institution's operations. Their task is to timely transport users and employees to health centers, hospitals, clinics, treasuries, banks, schools, religious, and other institutions in the area as needed. They also ensure that the institution is supplied with food, medicine, and various other necessary materials.
In the early 90s, a pickup truck and a "Zastava 101" vehicle were used for this purpose. The first driver was Bartus Janoš until 2002, when he was replaced by Keri Erne. After him, Zoran Maksimović and Branko Veleušić, who are still drivers today, were hired. In 2002, the vehicle fleet was supplemented with a "Škoda Fabia", and later with a specialized "Mercedes Vito" van - 7+1 seats, intended for user transport. The first two vehicles were in poor condition due to age. Therefore, in 2007, another "Zastava 101" was purchased for the "Home Care and Assistance" project and a delivery pickup truck "Florida". As the Home modernized, the vehicle fleet was also upgraded and expanded. Today, it is diverse and includes: "Zastava Rival" (2008), "Dacia Logan" (2008), "Opel Corsa" (2009), "Citroen Berlingo" (2014), "Fiat Doblo" (2015), "Škoda Superb" (2015), and an ambulance "Fiat Ducato" (2016).
