Dear listeners of Radio Novi Bečej, warm greetings from Skopje, where the European Cup in bowling began today. The prestigious competition brings together teams from several European countries, including the women's team of Bowling Club Jedinstvo from Novi Bečej and the men's team of Red Star Belgrade.
After the first competition day, held at the “Musandra” bowling alley, good news arrived from Skopje for bowling enthusiasts in Novi Bečej. The Jedinstvo women's team achieved an excellent result, finishing the opening day in second place, thanks to outstanding performances by Jelena Majstorović and Erika Kolarević.
Jelena Majstorović knocked down 445 pins, while Erika Kolarević achieved a score of 434 pins. With a total of 879 pins, Jedinstvo was ranked second, behind the Hungarian team Kofem, which took the lead with 919 pins. Third place belonged to Rapid from Bucharest, with 855 pins.
In addition to the excellent sporting results, it is important to highlight the outstanding organization of the competition and the hospitality of the hosts. Skopje had a sunny and festive atmosphere that day, and the occasion was made even more special by the fact that October 11 is a national holiday in North Macedonia.
That concludes this first report from Skopje. Warm greetings from the small sports delegation of Bowling Club Jedinstvo, with wishes for continued success in the competition.
