Dr. Pejićić was Theodore Pavlović's closest friend from their school days until his death, as evidenced by the book "ŽITIЈЕ ТЕОDОRА PАVLОVIĆА" ("The Life of Theodore Pavlović").
Dr. Pejićić was born in Borovo in 1802 and passed away in Budapest in 1882. Therefore, he did not live to see the consecration of Pavlović's tombstone. He completed his medical studies in Pest in 1830 and served in Sombor, followed by Sremski Karlovci, before moving to Pančevo at the end of 1844. He remained in Pančevo until his retirement in 1873. As a retiree, he moved to Pest, where he served as the director of Tekelijanum until his death.
In Pančevo, he was highly esteemed and played a prominent role in cultural life. He was the president of a well-known singing society in Pančevo and served as the longtime president of the Orthodox church parish. Together with Ljubomir Nenadović, a lawyer from Pančevo, he published a newspaper "Domаći lеkаr" ("The Home Doctor") aimed at promoting and safeguarding public health. His works on hygiene and medicine earned a place in the bibliography of Serbian medical literature.
Vasa Stajić referred to Dr. Pejićić as "Dositelj's last disciple". He was a great repository of knowledge, a skilled orator, and an excellent writer of several useful works. He was a staunch patriot who ardently wished for our nation to morally, intellectually, and economically rejuvenate itself from the heart.
